Since 1887, generations have shaped the character of Southern Pines. Now it’s our turn to help shape its future.
Support, enhance, and celebrate the town we love.
As an independent nonprofit organization, Friends of Southern Pines works to advance charitable, educational, environmental, cultural, and civic initiatives that benefit residents, visitors, and the broader community. Our mission is rooted in the belief that thoughtful public spaces, meaningful community programs, environmental stewardship, and civic pride all help shape a stronger, more connected Southern Pines.
We support projects that improve public spaces, encourage community gathering, promote education, protect natural resources, and celebrate the unique character of Southern Pines. From public art and beautification efforts to environmental initiatives, cultural programming, and community partnerships, our work is designed to create lasting public benefit.
While Friends of Southern Pines may partner with the Town, local organizations, businesses, and community groups, we operate independently and are guided by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our work is funded through individual contributions, corporate support, foundation grants, sponsorships, and community fundraising efforts.
At its heart, Friends of Southern Pines is about bringing people together to invest in the beauty, vitality, and future of our community.
